Club Trips...

Below is a list of trips the club are running. For full details of a particular trip please contact the trip organiser.If you require the hire of equipment from the club store, please let the trip organiser know in advance.

Bookings for trips are at the discretion of the trip organiser, and bookings will be taken on a first-come first-served basis. Please note that trips are run on a voluntary basis. Respect peoples private time and call at a reasonable hour.

If you have booked on a trip and find prior to the date of the trip that you are unable to attend, please inform the trip organiser ASAP.

Policy...

Coaches: these will be people who have current coaching awards recognised by the Sports Governing Body, have Disclosure Scotland and be approved by the Committee to organise and lead Club Trips.
Leaders: Will be people who hold a minimum qualification of White Water Safety Award, have Disclosure Scotland and be approved by the Committee to organise and lead Club Trips
Beginners: These will be Club Members who have little or no paddling experience.Beginners can only attend flat water trips and a ration of 1:2 leaders to beginners shall apply.
Intermediate: These will be Club Members who have gained some paddling experience and skills either in the pool or on previous Club trips or Canoe Courses and will be considered suitable candidates for being led on Club Trips.Intermediate paddlers can attend both flat water and river trips and a ratio of 1:3 leaders to intermediate paddlers shall apply.
Coach Led Club Trips:These trips will be lead and organised by suitably qualified Coaches and run in accordance with the SportŐs Governing Body Guide Lines, i.e. where SCA rules apply regarding the level of coach, type of water and ratio etc
Club Sanctioned Trips:These Trips will be organised and lead by Club Leaders and open to all members. Junior members attending must have parental approval and have completed the normal consent forms.They can only be run from 1st of March to October 31st.Venues will be on local Lochs and local grade two rivers approved by the Committee and under normal conditions. In the event of extreme conditions, i.e. storm force wind or spate river conditions then the organiser will find another suitable venue. If another venue cannot be found then the trip will be cancelled.
Unled Trips:This would be where a group of paddlers just went out paddling, as in our add hock Sunday trips. These trips are not on the Club calendar and are not official Club Trips approved by the Committee. While these trips are normally well organised and conducted in a safety minded way, people attending these trips should be aware that they are not led by Coaches or Trip Leaders. We will qualify trips when we list them in the Newsletter.

River Spey Trip. Travel to Aviemore on Saturday Morning (30th April) off load OCs & gear at loch Insh - do shuttle to Spey Bay - this takes about 3.5hrs. Day 1 loch Insh to Spey Bridge area. Day 2 Spey Bridge to Tamnnaughty Brae. Day 3 Tamnaughty Brae to Spey Bay. Inchcailloch Loch Lomond Islands. Friday night camp out on the island (optional) or day paddle around the islands Saturday. Suitable for Novices. River Findhorn Weekend. Another year passes and we come to the annual trek up the A9 for the Findhorn. Grade 2-5 suitable for paddlers with some WW experience.
