Membership

Application Forms: Membership of Stirling Canoe Club runs from October through to September. Applicants should submit an Application form and Consent form to the membership secretary. For family memberships, there should be a consent form per individual.

 

Consent Forms: Each active individual, whether adult or junior, must complete a consent form. The nominated club official will retain a copy. The original will be laminated and returned to you. When attending a club trip/event this form must be passed to the trip/event organiser. It will be returned at the end of the event/trip.

 

There are three membership types as described below, along with associated costs.


Adult Ages over 18 years £25.00
Family 2 Adults & 2 children £50.00
Junior Under 18 years £15.00
Unwaged Adults not earning wage £20.00

Why join?

S.C.C is one of the most active and vibrant kayak clubs in Scotland. As a member of S.C.C you will be joining an extended family within the paddle sport world. Whether its Canoe Polo, Sea Paddling, hucking big drops or coming along to the pool on a Wednesday night, the S.C.C will always welcome new members into the fold.

Below are some of the activities and benefits club members enjoy.

 

Pool Sessions: The club runs pool sessions throughout the school year. Details can be found here. As a member of S.C.C you are entitled to book sessions at the pool. Non members are more than welcome to come along and try a few sessions in advance of joining the club.

 

Canoe Polo: The club is very active in the Scottish Canoe Polo scene. Details of how to join the polo teams, training schedules, or just to see how the teams are doing this year, can be found here.

 

Coaching: S.C.C has a number of active coaches promoting paddle sport through education. As a member of S.C.C you can book on training courses run by S.C.C. To keep up-to-date with what's happening in the coaching world click here.

 

Club Trips: Over the course of the year the club organises a number of trips of varying level: beginners, flat water, grade 2, grade 3, grade 3+. Details of club trips can be found in the Newsletter, or by clicking here.

When attending a club trip please ensure you bring your consent form. If you have a medical condition that could affect your safety, or that of the groups, please inform the event organiser/instructor.

 

Club Equipment: The Club has a store of equipment, including recreational kayaks, river/white water kayaks, sea kayaks and open boats. As a member of S.C.C you are entitled to the following benefits:

  • Free use of club owned equipment for club events & personal use.
  • Sea boats & equipment cost £5 per day to hire.
  • All equipment use is subject to Club rules.

 

Equipment Discount: On presentation of your membership card, Members of S.C.C can get a 10% discount when purchasing equipment from Stirling Canoes.
